Reception and lecture.
Held in the magnificent historic house, Deene Park in Northamptonshire, this was indeed a unique occasion to hear the life story of the illustrious, figurative sculptor, Ian Rank -Broadley.
His work was brought to the general public’s attention with the memorial statue of Diana, Princess of Wales, commissioned by Prince William and Prince Harry for Kensington Palace. Ian’s extensive other sculptural works include the poignant Armed Forces Memorial at the National Arboretum as well as the image of HM The Queen on our British coinage.
''It was a unique experience to be at Deene Park to listen to Ian Rank- Broadley, one of the country's leading portrait sculptors, talk in depth about his work. An insight into the mind of such a creative living artist, I found his sculptures for the war memorial at the National Arboretum, commemorating the terrible loss of young life, deeply moving''
